Last Friday, our high school community came together for an important suicide awareness assembly with speakers from Moms Breaking the Silence.

Their powerful stories and message reminded us of the importance of checking in on one another, listening without judgment, and knowing that no one has to face difficult moments alone. 💜

We are grateful to Moms Breaking the Silence for sharing their experiences and helping our students understand the importance of speaking up, reaching out, and supporting one another. 💜

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to not be okay. And every conversation can make a difference. Reach out.

🌱 SNEAK PEEK: Community Partner Project Plan! 🌱

We’re excited to give you a sneak peek at an upcoming project at the high school entrance! 🐝🌾

Our Earth Science class is partnering with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Conservation Agent Andi Rittle to transform two areas at the front entrance of the high school—approximately 800 sq. ft. and 1,800 sq. ft.—from traditional cool-season/turf grass into professionally landscaped pollinator plantings featuring Missouri native grasses and forb species.

🌾 A major focus of this project will be Missouri native grasses! These native species are an important part of Missouri’s natural ecosystems and will help create a beautiful, sustainable landscape while providing valuable habitat and resources for pollinators and wildlife.

We’ll also be incorporating Missouri native plants into professionally landscaped beds around the entrance sign and other structures near the Bulldog Ave. parking lot entrance. 🦋🌻

This project is a great opportunity for our students to put Earth Science concepts into action while learning about native plants, conservation, habitat, and the importance of supporting Missouri’s ecosystems.

A HUGE thank you to Bullseye and Andrea Jennings for allowing us to use their tillers to help make this project possible! 🙌

We can’t wait to watch this space transform! Stay tuned for more updates as our students get to work. 🌱🐝

A new junior class/prom fundraiser allows seniors to paint their designated parking spots!

🅿️ Full Parking Spot: $35
🎨 Gravel Parking Section – Curb Painting: $15
⚠️ IMPORTANT: All designs MUST be approved by Mr. Slaughter or Mr. Watson and paid for BEFORE painting.

Get your design submitted and approved before school starts so you can claim your spot and show off your creativity!

We love new traditions that also support our students and make the parking lot colorful, creative, and full of school spirit! 💜 🎨

Seniors can paint their parking spots in the student parking lot! A full parking spot design is $35. Students who park in the gravel section can paint their curbs for $15. All funds will go to the Junior Class to help raise funds for Prom.

As we finish another school year, we continue to carry Chase Beaty’s memory with us each and every day. Chase would have been completing his sophomore year at South Harrison High School, and it has meant so much to our Bulldog family to honor him each month through Hat Day for Chase.💜🧢
Join us tomorrow, May 13th, for our final Hat Day for Chase of the school year. Bring $1 to wear your favorite hat, with proceeds supporting the Chase Beaty Memorial Scholarship. Through this scholarship, the Beaty Family was able to honor Chase this year by providing scholarships to three graduating seniors.
