🍀 The high school cooking class has been exploring Irish cuisine and learning how to make traditional Irish Soda Bread! This quick bread uses baking soda and buttermilk instead of yeast, making it a simple but delicious staple in Irish kitchens.
Students also learned about a fun Irish tradition—cutting a cross in the top of the bread to “let the fairies out.” While it’s a charming story, it also serves a scientific purpose by helping the bread bake more evenly!

Since there is no school on Friday, we will celebrate Hat Day for Chase this Thursday, March 12th instead. Bring $1 and wear your favorite hat in his memory. All proceeds support the Chase Beaty Memorial Scholarship, helping carry Chase’s legacy forward.

What an incredible experience for our SHHS Book Club as they explored St. Louis! They experienced the magic of Phantom of the Opera at the stunning Fox Theatre, took a ride to the top of the iconic Gateway Arch for breathtaking views, enjoyed a delicious meal at Favazza's, also ate at Grand Mediterranean for another great dining experience, and explored the World Chess Hall of Fame to dive into the history and strategy of chess.

Our South Harrison juniors and seniors had the opportunity to attend NCMC’s Nursing and Health Sciences Day, where they learned more about NCMC’s nursing and health science programs! Students heard directly from current instructors and NCMC students, gaining insight into the pathways and opportunities available in the healthcare field. A great day of learning and exploring future careers! 💜
